The Award Management System is a sophisticated web application I developed for the University of Peradeniya Research Council to automate and streamline the entire award lifecycle — from application to final approval.

Key Features:

• End-to-end automation of award applications, reviews, approvals, and payment processing.
• Role-specific access for Applicants (e.g., Principal Investigators), URC Director & Secretary (admins), Deans, MC Members, and the Bursar.
• Applicants can:
  • Browse available awards (e.g., Research Excellence Awards, Recognition Awards, Prof. Lakshman Samaranayake Awards, Research Publication Facilitation Fund).
  • Apply during URC-defined open periods visible on the homepage.
  • Track submission statuses in real time.
  • Receive automated notifications via email.
• Admins can:
  • Upload award templates and eligibility criteria.
  • Shortlist applications and forward them for evaluation (e.g., to Deans/MC Members via secure email links).
  • Make final approval decisions.
  • Set and update application open/close dates to control submissions.
